personal messageSamuel Patterson, also known as 'Kostco', was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, on February 3, 1985. As a child, Kostco enjoyed listening to hip hop and R&B, he also loved to bee box and make beats on any kitchen table. By the age of 4, he was so enthused with music, that he would turn his power bike on its' side, spin the wheels, and pretend he was deejaying. At the age of 11, Kostco moved to Queens, Far Rockaway. While attending Grover Cleveland High School, he took up piano. During lunchtime, Kostco would battle in rap ciphers. At these rap cipher sessions, students, as well as adults, would gather with amusement to listen to him rap. A few years later, he was introduced to James 'J Fingers' Harris, who was known for making beats on the "music generator" (a playstation program). J Fingers taught Kostco how to use the program, and as time went on, he too, was a master with the program. It was then, that the duet created and made excellent music together. At the age of 21, Kostco had the opportunity to meet Chris Brown, while attending a college trip. Chris Brown was the host and was there talking to people about the music industry and how he got started. Listening to Chris Brown, gave Kostco more inspiration and determination, that he was now more determined to go home and get ready to work on his new equipment just purchased. In '2009, Kostco signed up with Vance NyCC Multimedia, where he also had the privilege of meeting Cicely 'Ce-Ce Da Manager' Vance, President, of Vance NyCC Multimedia, who is known as a woman behind the enormous success of underground labels around the world. Kostco is also in a group called "PaperChaze" the group members consist of (Booda Black & Time Is Money). friends (331)favorite pages
