CAMIL(Chicago Area Midwest IL) Born in Kankakee Illinois a small town 50 miles south of Chicago stated to be the worse place to live in America by Places Rated Almanac,USA Today, Readers Digest and David Letterman. One of fifteen children. From the first day he learned to talk, music became his calling. He began writing at the tender age of 10 later recording his first underground album at 15. CAMIL has recorded 11 underground tapes and CDs since 98 and all together has sold over 20,000 records. CAMIL(Chicago Area Midwest IL)has worked hard to establish himself in every area of music becoming a well-rounded and versatile writer, producer, arranger, performer, composer and promoter mastering all these skills with a spirit of excellence.
CAMIL has took on all the jobs of whole record labels to get his music out to the public. CAMIL has performed in venues such as Soul Cafe and Club Downtime both in Time Square Manhattan, Climentes in Harlem, Club Nells in Manhattan, Mary Holmes College in West Point MS and also for The Curve Killers Bikefest in Newark New Jersey to name a few.
CAMIL'S producer is Vudu which is the same producer that brought you Ludacris, Field mob and Jamie FoxxsGeorgia, including tracks for other major artist Chingy, R Kelly, Reuben Studdurd, Young Guns, Shawnna, Do or Die, EightBall and MJG, just to name a few. CAMIL has expanded his fan base by getting rotation on Power 92(Columbus, MS),Power 92(Chicago), WKKC(Chicago), WLRA(Joliet/Romeoville IL), internet radio in New Jersey and getting over 60,000 listens on his myspace page in just 4 months.
CAMIL has been on a soundtrack called A Get Together which included Kanye West, and Boyz 2 Men. CAMIL is also in an up and coming movie that was shot in Brooklyn New York called the Coalition which includes people such as Reakwon and Power from The Wu-tang Clan, Chuck Zito, Michael Wright, Frank Vincent.
