MY POETIC MOMENTS

MY PRAYER IS...

Life has many choices....some right, others wrong.

Decisions are sometimes hard & the list of answers is often long.

I choose to let you into my life this day,

To keep you close to my heart for an eternity, I pray.

The days, weeks, months, & years pass & then we must die.

All the while doing God`s will is what we try.

And if we`re pleasing in His sight,

We`ll one day walk into that beautiful bright light.

If this is not our fate & it will not be,

We won`t know today. We`ll have to wait & see.

And if together we make it, we really do,

My prayer is that in heaven, I`ll always be with you.

COURAGE

What does it mean to fuss & fight?

Does it take a heated discussion to make things alright?

I hope that no time soon do we need to go there again.

We should communicate better, that`s where to begin.

I remember a day when we could do nothing but talk.

Could not even see each other or think about taking a late nite walk.

Remember how we initialed that ceiling with a flame?

Five years have past & neither of us is exactly the same.

Looking back through the last few years,

I know that we both need to just overcome fears.

I know that you love me, that`s what I believe.

I remember that day & how we both dreaded having to leave.

Everything changed in the shower of your upstairs apartment.

Seductive poem after poem, this is what I meant.

If there ever came a time when one of us was not hot & the other cold.

We could make a life together one of those to have and to hold.

I love you too...the very same way.

Even though I never had the courage to ever say.

WHY CAN'T I SAY?

I can't say that I hate you

'Cause our love was so long

I can't say that I don't miss you

'Cause in your arms I belong

I can't say I didn't know you

'Cause I'd heard the same ole song.

I can't say that I never caught you

'Cause the scent of perfume was too strong.

I can't say it's over, I'm done

'Cause she would say: I've won.
