What a beautiful week this has been. I started my new job....the first since being laid off, mid-December, after 3 glorious years with my last employer. I've had to ease back into work....shall we say slowly. The 29th of this month will be the ultimate test, school and work. Part-time work and full-time school. Umpf!! Praise be to God almighty for providing the opportunity and now giving me the needed strength to begin and eventually complete the newest chapter of my life. I have always known... I know it's been a while since I've shared a piece of my life with you...so here goes. I just got back from Florida visiting my family and friends. Lots of changes there but the people are pretty much the same. I had a wonderful time. My daughter and I stayed with my son, his fiance and their daughter. I was grateful for the opportunity to be in the presence of those I love once again. During that visit I realized just how blessed I am to see each and every day that the Lord gives me....some... In the midst of it all my belief in a higher power, my creator, has been magnified one hundred fold due to my constant connection with "God" in prayer. For the past three weeks I have been sick and in a lot of pain. My focus was fixed on my spiritual wellness because I believe what is gained in the spiritual realm manifest itself in the natural. My prayers were not just for my... (continue reading) IT IS WHAT IT ISPosted June 04th, 2008 at 12:57pm So much has been going on this year and I believe that I have come full circle. My dreams are unfolding in front of me. The dust appears to have settled and I am examing new things, people and places. For what seems like a lifetime I have taken care of everyone else. Someone has made it apparent that in order to restore balance in my life, I must allow myself to be cherished not in part but as a whole. I was thinking about the cruel jokes that have been set before me time and time again... I was blessed to get the keys to my new apartment almost 6 weeks prior to the end of my current lease. Everything is falling into place quite smoothly. I was able to get some reliable help from family and friends to move my belongings up three flights of stairs. Yes....my new apartment is on the 3rd floor. Whew!!! I didn't have to do anything but delegate and direct. But unpacking and packing was my job...being the... (continue reading) DADDY'S HOMEGOINGPosted April 19th, 2008 at 12:21pm
I get the dreaded call mid-morning saying that my father has passed away. Almost a month since my grandfather, my mother's father, passed. Although he had been diagnosed some time ago , he was in the advanced stages of lung cancer. I scream inside, it can't be time! He was hardly around when I was a kid and I held that against him for many years. Then I became a woman and had children of my own. It hit me one day that I was accountable to God for my lack of forgiveness. Regardless of his lack... (continue reading) my gifts
