Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let me give you a proper introduction. Most people call me Ahni or Ahni Luv. I've lived in the DC Metro area all my life and I LOVE IT!!! I've had the chance to travel all over the country, and it's given me a new found respect for the place I call home. This area is full of talented people and everyone seems to have their own flavor. Though I've been tempted to move for the sake of my career, I've yet to take that big step.
Speaking of my career, I started modeling in 2002. 5 years may not seem like a long time, but when you consider the average career life span of an "internet model"...it almost makes me a veteran...lol. I started with my website (www.ahniluv.com) It started out as a tool to network with other people in the industry, but I soon realized that it attracted more fans then colleages. I changed up the style a bit, created a members section and focused on building an internet fan base. The response was unreal. In just a short time, they had created a buzz that I couldn't have done on my own. My first major accomplishment was being named "Honey Magazine's Model of the Year" in 2003. In 2004, I was the first model to win the Funk Master Flex/King Magazine National Model Search, which lead to my feature in King. 2005 was a great year! I was lucky enough to meet Sean Cummings (of Smooth Magazine at that time), who gave me a preview in Smooth Girl, as well as a spread in Smooth magazine. This lead the way for my first video with Eminem, as well as leading roles in R. Kelly's "Playa's Only" and Ricky Martin's "I Don't Care". Last year, I traveled to numerous cities to host different parties ad events. I've kicked off 2007 with my biggest accomplishment yet...my first cover!
I've learned that this industry is a big hustle. My advice to stay successful, you have to be on your grind at all times...networking, marketing, learning how to read people. It's funny that smiling for the camera plays such a small role. I've created this page to make new friends, and stay intouch with old ones.
