personal message

"Heritage" From my mother, the antique mirror where I watch my face take on her lips, and smile. She left me with the Gift of God, a heart of gold and the fine brown hair on my head, she left the inside of her heart and soul as protection to my most inter-being. From my father I take on his brown eyes, the plag of illness, that pain of my ailing body, and the intelligences, on how and when to lexpress myself through my militant attitude, my revolutionary style, and my need to seek a higher power. From my uncle I take on the rights to challenge the challenger, my will to be all that I can be, the desire to be alll that I can be and the fight to fight it with the knowledge of knowing that if I desire it bad enough it shall be given unto me. From my Grandfather who always spoke so highly of his grandkids I take from him a positive attitude to carry on to the next generation to come. From my Grandmother I take from her the strength to know that in "God" do I put my trust I will never be put to shame. God will deliver me in his righteousness, and cause me to escape.

Sisters and Brothers in Need: Help is Here!

WANTED: Women and Men who want a better life, and are willing to work for it!

Perhaps you're a struggling single mom, doing your best to take care of your children and make ends meet. Maybe you have no children, but you have dealt with hardships and failed relationships, and you don't feel there is anybody you can depend on to give you the caring support you need from time to time. Perhaps you are a man who has become educated, but you haven't been able to get that good job that will afford you the ability to build and support a family. Maybe you're struggling and can't even afford the education that would lead to a good job. Maybe you have children to support, but the economic environment has you wondering whether you will ever be a good provider. Whatever the case may be, you're a decent human being who wants to work for his/her achievements, and wants to have a support system to lean on when things get difficult. (Who doesn't?)

The Sister and Brother Hood, in cooperation with Osebiile Temple, is here to help. The organization is now operating shared housing programs, in the Atlanta, GA, and San Antonio, TX areas, and looking in to Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and other areas of Texas, as well as Columbus, Macon, Thomaston, and Savannah, in Georgia, and other areas of the Southeast, especially the Carolinas, and Alabama. Additionally, the organization seeks to offer services in the greatly troubled communities of New Orleans and surrounding areas, and Mississippi. Generally, the operations will expand where ever assistance is needed.

What is "shared housing"?
The Sister and Brother Hood buys or leases large homes. A home is designated for a group of women (with or without children) or men. Everybody living in the home must work and contribute to the maintenance of the home. Everyone cooperates as family. The Sister and Brother Hood provides assistance in finding and securing education and training programs, financial management of the home, assistance with banking, savings, and credit issues, child care and early childhood issues. Together, with Osebiile Temple, The Sister and Brother Hood teaches life values, based on ancient African tradition that sets people in harmony with their own soul, with one another, and with the Earth. It is by these essential life values that each home is operated. It is by these values that everyone functions as a cohesive family and community.

How do I get in to one of these programs?
For more information, contact The Sister and Brother Hood or Osebiile Temple.
