  For the third consecutive year, the 500 MEN Empowerment Summit continues to be a successful vehicle to reach men who have fallen short when confronted with life's difficult circumstances. 500 MEN heralds its annual event held each June for the purpose of empowering men of varied economic status to achieving more in their lives. All who attend receive information, networking opportunities and practical applications required to master their quest for the next level. The 500 MEN Organization has postured itself as a community advocate & resource that is committed to enhancing the knowledge that supports fatherhood, family, health and financial empowerment.

  The 2008 event will mark the third time we will market the event to the human service programs focusing on men issues. Many of the programs targeted to participate in this event have missions which address men with issues concerning; child support, substance abuse, mental health, unemployment, housing, finance, spirituality and inter-familial relationships. The Summit will provide workshops that address these issues. As always, this year we will adhere to our custom of offering all men who prove affiliation with a human service program FREE registration. All other men registering for the Summit are required to pay a $40 dollar registration fee or a $50 late registration fee. All registrants will receive a full day of empowering interaction; man-centered workshops, give-a-ways, networking lunch, fellowship, and a Grand Plenary Session. The Summit provides the connections essential to the positive male development in their relationships and their role in their families.

 In 2008 three events will be held, on three Saturdays in June, in three different boroughs. This increase is in keeping with THE 500 MEN EXPANSION PLAN. The Plan outlines a progressive annual expansion of one additional Summit in each borough over the next three years, culminating with gala citywide Summits in the year 2010. This year the Summits will be hosted in the boroughs of New York, Brooklyn and the Bronx.
