The FiX biography… It was established early that they were going to be different. Conforming to the masses was always a problem for The FiX. Comprised of two up and coming artist from Cleveland’s gritty lower eastside: The FiX duo bring a voice to a poverty stricken generation. The FiX’s young gun Phyre, grew up back and forth between New York and Cleveland. Witnessing the struggles of his mother, Phyre became accustomed to poverty at a young age. Watching how his idol, The Notorious B.I.G. used raw lyricism to rise above his the streets, Phyre developed a style using lyricism and vivid imagery to escape his surroundings. D-80, grew up back and forth between Youngstown and Cleveland. He discovered ways of expressing himself through music from watching his father perform at night clubs all over the Youngstown. While attending Cleveland State University, D-80 and Phyre were introduced to each other through a mutual friend Brian “Sirreelz” Starks. The two kept in touch after college. D-80 enjoyed success garnering national attention with video a called “Who That Be”. While Phyre continued to rise throughout the underground ranks ripping mics with dj jack da rippa in local clubs. Combining D-80’s raw delivery and Phyre’s witty lyricism with concepts of freedom, hope and tides of poverty THE FiX was born. THE FiX is an acronym meaning The Freedom Inside is Unknown. The music that THE FiX creates encompasses every aspect of poverty from the corner mentality, to parties, to scamming promoters, to love. Freedom only can come from within no matter what. So we use music to express the part of us that you cannot see…do you need a fix? Read more @ WWW.WHOISTHEFIX.COM
