He began his radio career in Durham, NC at Top 40FM WDCG. From there, he went on to program Urban stations WDUR(Durham), WFXC (Durham,), WBLX (Mobile) and WMGL(Charleston, SC). He was the Regional Promotions Manager for Atlantic Records from 1988 - 1997 before getting back to radio as Program Director at WQMG -Greensboro.
