"I had no idea what to expect from this novel, though the title and trailer hinted at dark tale of murder and a mystery/investigation to be solved. That said, I was pulled tightly into the story from the beginning and was immediately taken with the depth of each character, as he or she entered into the tale. Haskins has a true gift of presenting the reader with characters that are unpredictable and not obviously "good" or "bad" but a true-to-life mix of both. This full spectrum of insightful traits had me pondering human nature in a raw, honest way, as a result of an approach that few authors are brave enough to tackle. Without giving anything away, this is a fast-paced story and each time I thought I had the mystery solved, I was proven wrong with a surprising new twist to the plot. I really loved the balanced mix of sexual tension, criminal psychology and brilliantly-executed tragedy, and I highly recommend this to anyone who loves feeling a full range of emotions."
