The beginnings were benign enough - a youth born of talent, and a visionary artistic insight.
Newark, NJ served as a balance backdrop of urban blight and beauty, of decay and re-birth, of struggle. The Robinson’s household was the oasis that made balancing these realities into an aesthetic panoply for the young Tamil Robinson.
A close -knit family with roots that extended beyond the community that warehoused Tamil's physical being. It was the Art-driven Tamil Robinson that surfaced in dominant fashion at a very young age. This newly realized persona was aided and abetted by his Mentor, a master pattern maker, who took Tamil under his tutelage in life and in the discipline and understanding of the aesthetics of fashion. Over the course of time, tapestry became the way of the world for Tamil.
Formal education took hold at the prestigious Arts High School in Newark, NJ.
Here, Tamil forged his knowledge of free hand sketching and drawing capabilities.
His understanding of the all-pervasive, all-powerful urban cultural dynamic balanced against a worldly, instinctive reach for the greater picture of the world in which he lived, fused together to form out his destiny as a man.
The rest of his journeys from master air-brush artist with street-art to his ascension to sports apparel for companies like Puma, NFL, to primary designer for Reebok ushering in the Allen Iverson I-3 collection, running his own AMIAT division at KHNY Licensing, INC. in which he was also a consultant in helping the huge company into celebrity licensing, while the formation of his upscale clothing collection was being created.
Tamil Robinson continues to prove true to the way of the working aesthetic in apparel conceptualization and design.

We are a high end fashion house based in the New York area Fashion District, we are true leaders and believers of true fashion with quality fabrics that are woven from the yarn, artistic designs that are classic and go beyond trends that set trends!
We started in the denim industry 15 years ago and AMIAT is still a new young company that has made many high fashion projects come to life! We were the designers and producers of the NFL 2002 - 2003 All-Star uniforms, the REEBOK Allen Iverson I-3 Collection and on field apparel through REEBOK for NFL.
We are now concentrating on our 10 year developed AMIAT Collections that is targeted toward the high-end better markets world wide! We have developed new renditions of industry textiles names like Paisley , Plaid, Hounds Tooth Check, Polka -Dots, and Stripes in our own creative styles that will sit and last with the most influential names and labels in the fashion Industry!
