personal messageAdonya Wong attended Suffield University in Twin Falls, Idaho where she received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Administration. She has a diverse professional background and has worked in several industries such as banking, telecommunications, sales, healthcare, and nonprofit management. She is also a veteran of the United States Navy; having served in Iceland and Maryland. After being honorably discharged in 1991, she served with the California Air National Guard for four years. Adonya began writing short stories and poems at a young age and finds she writes her best through the inspiration of her loved ones. In My Mind: The World through the Eyes of Autism is her first book. It was pre-released in October 2008 and will be available worldwide on January 6, 2009. In My Mind was inspired by her son, Nicholas, who has autism. When she is not writing, she homeschools her son, heads the Tulsa-based nonprofit which she founded, M.O.C.H.A. – Mothers of Color for Holistic Alternatives, as well as head the local chapter of the international nonprofit, Holistic Moms Network. Adonya also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, watching classic movies, and curling up with a good book. She currently lives in northeastern Oklahoma with her family. A portion of the author’s proceeds benefit Tulsa Autism Foundation. |
