I am an American who is working to better his country. 

I hold these truths to be self evident: that all men are created equal. that they are endowed by their creator with certain Unalienable Rights, that among these are: Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. 

The constitution with its enumeration of protected individual rights and charter of limitations on the actions of the federal government provided a strong frame work for the defense of what can collectively be called the American dream. Thanks to unconscionable acts by politicians lusting after power in the 1930s, this charter of liberties began to be eroded. It has continued up through now, and continues to accelerate in speed and scope. Actions that would once have surely resulted in impeachment charges for treason are now heralded as "historic." All our rights are under assault from every direction. If we fail to stand firm now. If we fail to inform and education and activate the American people, America as we know it with its charter of Unalienable rights will be permanently and fundamentally transformed.
