Angel Traviz

Angel Traviz was born in the late 70's in Dominica, W.I. to parents of school teachers who stressed education and discipline. After his parents relocated to the Bronx,N.Y., they sent for A.T. and his older brother (Muzikpulse).
Traviz's father is a self-taught musician who had a band in the W.I. and was trying to do the same in the states. At the age of nine, Angel began taking basic piano and guitar lessons from his father. Meanwhile, in school Angel was a top performer who excelled in English, Math, and Science.
By the time Angel started attending Evander Childs high school in the Bronx, hip hop was in full force while Caribbean music was gaining exceptance. A.T. decided to take some advanced courses in English in order to further develop his writing skills. He also helped to form a local sound system and started throwing hookie parties never loosing touch with his Caribbean side. He took several trips to the region including: Antigua, Dominica, Jamaica, Montserrat, and Puerto Rico.
When college came calling, Traviz already had experience in promoting, songwriting, and business management. Being located in the Bronx, it was hard to ignore the hip hop movement that was exploding in front of him. In the early 2000's, fresh off a few college attempts, A.T. decided to give the music industry a shot. It was at that point Angel Traviz the artist was born. His parents had divorced and this was an opportunity for Angel to patch the relationship with his father. He began attending rehearsals with his fathers' band, then it's on to co-management.
The band eventually breaks up in 2002 and Florida came calling. From springbreak 2003 to June of 2007, Angel Traviz spent his time traveling everywhere from D.C. to England in search of a break while recording a few demos.
Confident he has matured into a good recording and performing artist, 2008 marks Angel Traviz's entry into the music industry. Armed with a broad range of material, knowledge and respect for the art, there is no doubt this artist/songwriter is here. From lady anthems, street tales, conscious thinkers, to those club banger, Angel Traviz delivers it all. Look out world, an Angel has landed.
