A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I AM ONE OF THE MOST GRACIOUS LADIES OF ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY INCORPORATED! TAU MU CHAPTER (CAL STATE HAYWARD FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON`T KNOW). Here are a few of my own thoughts: Black Boy In a world where you are the most feared But also where people are reluctant to see you revered You seem to make it day by day You are able to put one foot in front of the other Sometimes it s hard But you are able to pave your way I ve seen so many of you fall by the wayside But there are still millions of you that are making it across the great divide The great divide you ask? That s the 6 degrees of separation That s keeping you from benefiting from the fruits of this mighty nation Why cant you grow up and be happy healthy and free There is always something pulling you back cant they just let you be? Just when you think you ve actually succeeded and gotten ahead Something pulls you to the ground and to the world you are dead The aren t happy holding you in the ghetto Keeping you hooked on crack, smack, and blow They figure if they keep your mind clouded You ll never take the time to go to The meetings, assemblies, and protests To change the beaten path that keeps you behind the rest But me I can see the man on the inside The man if given the chance would never run and hide He would take on the world in one beautiful breath Possessing a smile that behind all of the poverty shows so much wealth A man who would open his mind body and soul to you A man who will love you so hard you wont know what to do So black man hear me when I speak When I see you I see a man as bright as the sun Not a pathetic soul who s future is bleak I give you the support to maintain and survive I want you to meet each day with a smile And do as our ancestor said and keep hope alive Angalida Tolbert Fall 2002 WHAT I LOOK FOR IN A MAN IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER: 1.EMPLOYED(what can i do with a broke %#&@$! man) 2.
