How Grown Folks Do

Inhibiting I want to be

But inviting is the impulse in me

Clearing up the cataracts so I can see

See the beauty in what God has created in thee

The pleasant scent of you and me

Together under the sycamore at 3

In the AM when winds are gently blowin

And the moon is brightly showin

And the glistening of your eyes and lips

Has my pulse jumpin and thumpin

My heart racin and poundin

To the rhythm of the swaying trees

To the melody of the whistling reeds

swiftly like the flowing river

where our blanket lies above the dandelion weed

my sense of touch sends signals to my brain

that I should be exuberant in joy

but ambiguous I am, for this is the midnight train

and right now I am jealous of the rain

although soft and warm, it came just the same

and he got to make you glisten, but before the night ends

you will remember my name

I'd like to have this picture in a frame

Of you and I soaking wet staring at each others frame

Thinking of the same bedside games

let's take it nice and slow, it's Usher on the radio

Wipers moving to the beat

Smooth ride on the back road

I wanna ask you where you wanna go

But there's something else I need to show

On Philly's west side, parkside,

Not far from west river drive

Where the whispers travel from doe to doe

By the statuesque entrance of memorial hall

Where lovers can sit together of far apart

And still be close enough to know

I know that you won't say no

To what I have in store for us next

You'll be vexed

By the petals on the steps, and the

Silk bed sets and the bottle of moet

Being chilled by the fire pit

just so we can converse a bit

maybe even take a hit if your up to it

Look my ulterior motive is make the most of tonight

That there maybe another and another night

Maybe even see the delight

in the morning as the greatest star shines it's light

On the truth of my blissful plight

Not to have you stay the night

But that you have had a wonderful time

With a person who could be a friend for life.
