William Henry "Bill" Cosby, Jr., Ed.D. (born July 12, 1937) is an American comedian, actor, television producer, activist, and luminary. A veteran stand-up performer, he got his start at various clubs, and then landed a vanguard role in the 1960s action show I Spy. He later starred in his own series, The Bill Cosby Show, in the late 1960s. He was one of the major characters on the children's television show for its first two seasons, and created the humorous educational cartoon series Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, about a group of young friends growing up in the city. Cosby also acted in numerous films, although none has received the acclaim of his television work.

During the 1980s, Cosby produced and starred in what is considered one of the decade's defining sitcoms, The Cosby Show, which aired from 1984 to 1992. The sitcom featured an upper-middle class African-American family without resorting to the kinds of stereotypes previously seen among African-Americans in prime-time television. While some argued that The Cosby Show ignored the issues of racial inequity still prevalent in society, many agreed that it showcased positive role models.

Cosby was active in showbusiness in the 1990s, starring in Cosby, which first aired in 1996, and hosting Kids Say the Darndest Things, which began in 1998, as well as making more movies. He has also continued appearing on the stand-up circuit. His material consists mainly of anecdotal tales, often dealing with his upbringing and raising his own family, and he is known for having a clean, family-friendly routine.

His good-natured, fatherly image has made him a popular personality and earned him the nickname of "America's Dad," and he has also been a sought-after spokesman for products like Jell-O Pudding, Kodak film, Coca-Cola, and the defunct retail chain Service Merchandise

We need African American millionaires that respect our African legends to put money up to produce movies of our African legends who are alive & the ones that made there transition. No disrespect I?m sick of Jews, Caucasians & everyone else monopolizing, taking making money of my ancestors legacy during & after there life telling there stories. Caucasians wouldn?t let a African produce , write also direct a bio picture movie of there hero?s like Elvis, & the Beatles just to name a few lol. We as Africans need to take control of our images & protect our legends by directing , writing also producing there work as a bio pic movie or what ever way we see fit to preserve there legacies with no chaser. Money is not the issue because many of us Have it so stop with the excuses & lets practice group economics have respect for our culture then lets get it done now is the time to build & pass on a strong legacy.

He Is A King

By Jeffrey L. McKinney

He Is A King

He stands tall but his height does not matter

He is wise but does not boast in his wisdom for he knows it is a gift not of his own making

He cherishes his family and honors his God

He is a loyal friend and looks at the larger picture of all things

He has one foot in heaven walking and talking amongst the sages of time

But he also has one foot firmly planted on the ground

And sees himself no better than the least and is willing to give them part of his time without a crown

He loves children and does what he can to keep them safe

He chooses peace but knows that in reality it can not always be accomplished without fighting for it

He walks with his head held high in the worst of circumstances

Not in arrogance or the wrong kind of pride,

but in divine comfort and confidence in knowing the greater power beyond himself

He seeks the advise of others, but knows there are times when one must encourage himself

He walks tall with splendor

He walks tall in stature and grace

He is merciful and kind

His is compassionate on those whom can't help themselves

Yet he is not overbearing

He leaves room for them to find there own way

He leaves room for them to also become the best they can be

This is true royalty

This is a true king.

He Is A King
