As we journey through this thing called life, we find ourselves affected in one or two ways, positively or negatively.

Life has its up and downs and even its turn arounds. There are times where one feels as if they can conquer the world, then there are times where they can feel defeated.

I came up with this saying a long time ago.


"Defeat lies only in the mind of the defeated."

To admit defeat is to acknowledge that you are controlled by the events, attitudes, things or people around you. It means that you will never be your own person, and become destined to never truly live out your own hopes & dreams.

You set your life based on the standards set by the world, instead of those defined by yourself. It basically means you are the guest of honor at your own self pity party.

Don't give into the darkness!! Look deep within yourself and find the inner light within you. Focus on the light and let it shine and lead you to a brighter tomorrow.

Don't let anyone stand in your way. This is YOUR life, in which GOD gave to YOU. Your life isn't for anyone else to live but YOU. If you don't believe me. Go look in the mirror and see who's staring back. I guarantee, you won't see anyone else staring back but YOU.....

They call me the BiGHaiD... I`m a brother with a large cranium who has been known for giving good advice and deep inspirational pep talks. I am a Black Christian Man and am not afraid to stand up for what I believe in. I am a member of the "Church of Christ" (NO not the cult. Please do NOT mistake that!!!)

At any rate...ok who am I? I'm a graphic designer with a 10+ year background in Information Technology, with all roads leading to grad school. (Hopefully this fall GOD WILLING!!!)

I am a born and raised Chicagoan with southern roots. I love to cook, (not to mention eat), I love to travel. I love good music..umm..let me clarify...I love REAL music. (You know the kind where real instruments are actually used in creating the song, and the person who sings the song can actually sing.)

Oh and I speak my mind...for those who haven't caught on yet... :)
