Feb 28, 2011 -  To my Friends and Visitors of Black Planet.  I had a lot of fun chatting and catching up with old & new friends in the 50s Room. Since '06, what started out as therapy after losing my mother....I began drawing again. After I developed my Website, things began to go well for me. I've been reunited with my H.S. girlfriend, and we've been together for a year now (and counting).  Tomorrow, I will begin a long break from chat altogether. When I'll return is uncertain, but I need the time to create new artwork.  I'll post a few pieces here, so feel free to drop me a note from time to time.  If you haven't visited my site yet, please do. I replied yes, adding that I recently created an online shop on my website. My Approach to Art (more or less)

In this note, I will explain what goes into my head as I work on a Portrait.....

Once I get my subject, I spend some time with just the photo alone. Trying to bring out the details, I analyze the shades that make up the face (wrinkles and all). Then I look at the hair pattern, down to the stray or split ends, and come up with a sketch in my head. I set my sketchbook onto my easel and begin.
