HEED THE WARNING



cast not

a menacing glance

in my direction

for I`ve done you no injustice --

I`ve done you no wrong.

furthermore my friend,

raise not

your hand against me,

the resulting fisticuffs

as well as the outcome

will be proof positive

we all get

exactly what we deserve.

speak ill of me

when my back is turned

and I can assure you,

your poisonous remarks

shall eventually reach my ears

thus creating a need for confrontation.

what goes around

comes back.

So if you feel you must

besmirch my name,

make it easier on yourself --

settle all accounts directly,

a simple enough solution

which when carried out

alleviates distortion

brought on by

second or third party channels.

If there exists

the slightest chance

we may resolve our differences -- this is it.

You may never love me, nor I you,

we may never be friends you and I,

but if nothing else

you will

RESPECT ME.

SELF PORTRAIT



my spirit has flown free

endlessly across time

and these many centuries.

it has touched the lives of

innumerable persons,

unable to stay for more than

the briefest, most fleeting moment -

it then moves on

obediently drawn

wherever destiny leads.

but of this infinite journey

I grow weary

and frantically seek sanctuary,

a place to rest

if only for one lifetime

before resuming flight

to lives unseen, untouched

and unbeknownst to me.

i exist as an insignificant,

yet integral part of life

and the Almighty`s univeral plan.

this is my identity,

it is who and what I am

for i am the essence of my spirit,

the lifeforce within.

MY TRIBUTE



so much in life

i`ve yet to see and do

fortunately, youth is on my side...

or is it?

before the light of my candle

diminishes in brightness

and inevitably flickers out,

before my soul departs

my earthly remains,

transcending

the established boundaries

of this the material world

i plan to live each day

as though it were my last

for indeed it very well could be.

so as for my glass,

fill it to the rim

that i might taste

the sweetness of life

so that I might sip

the champagne of experience,

of knowledge and wisdom

and when I am done

fill my glass once more

that I might toast

those who have gone on before me.
