The family moved to Los Angeles, Ca. when she was ten, where she was raised and received her education. During her four years at Cajon High School in San Bernardino Ca., she was introduced to the arts and developed a passion for oil painting, poetry and writing. A few years after high school BoSweets moved to Cincinnati, Oh. and began working in the healthcare industry caring for elderly dementia & Alzheimer patients, Crisis intervention, and Health insurance. Tapping into another passion, she taught and counseled at risk teens in a supported living and foster care setting, identifying areas of need and helping them to become self sufficient and overcome barriers. She has volunteered with at risk youth for several years through Cincinnati Youth Collaborative, Beech Acres Family Services, My Sister My Friend as well as in the community. During this time she became exposed to real life situations and experiences and observed life on its edge. BoSweets has been a feature Poet at Caf Cin-Cin in Cincinnati, Oh. and Java House in Louisville, Ky. She has also shared her poetry on 88.3 fm a community radio station in Cincinnati and an article written about her Poetry in the Cincinnati Post and most recently, a live radio book interview discussion and reading. BoSweets currently resides in Saint Petersburg, FL. Her mission is to promote positive Spoken Word, reaching the hearts and minds of as many people as possible, sharing words of inspiration, love, heartache and thought provoking poetry. Since arriving in Saint Petersburg, FL. BoSweets has continued to be an instrument to the community; volunteering her motivational speaking skills to groups of 6-9th grade students in a distressed middle school, Judged Boys & Girls Clubs African American Heritage Festival National Step Show 2010, and Career days with 6-9th grade students. August 31, 2009 BoSweets published her first book titled, "Secrets of the Soul, Shattered Pieces Made Whole" This book communicates journeys of life, love, heartache, new beginnings and inspirational words of wisdom. The life of urban fathers struggling to get out of the judicial system and work to care for their families! Transitional living program for teenage girls with children or expectant teen moms; teaching everyday life skills from child rearing, personal hygiene, court advocate, seek and successfully gain employment, signing a lease, opening bank account, grocery shopping, budgeting and more. Collaborate with professional composers and musicians to create music.
