Brooklyn Ajai Says.... Words....
What has two thumbs and thinks that writing will most likely be her claim to fame... ME! So... Here's my story... Ever since I was 5 I KNEW I was going to be an artist... And only because I was quite sure I, wasn't really applying myself to anything else... School wasn't challenging... Math sucked... Science was a waste of my time... Gym was good... But who are we kidding... Sports is not my thing... History was kind of a bore unless I was causing some sort of trouble... Then in high school came Religion class where yet again I was bored out of my mind... Unless I was causing more trouble ((smiles))... Example: "Jesus was a Jew" during the classes usual Jew bashing session...go figure... Then there's English... Back to 3rd grade... We had to right some sort of essay... I got a grade equivilent to lets say a "C"... My teacher pulled my Ma aside and told her she thought I could do better... My mother agreed and continued to tell me to "elaborate"... So I did... Kinda... B+... Not bad... I'm fine with being average...to a point Now... Here come something only select people know... Sorry Ma... But the truth had to come out sometime... Flash forward to about the the 10th grade... Its 5th period and i totally forgot I had an essay due next period... Worth a lot... What do I do... Start writing... I have 45 minutes to pull off a 3 page paper... I was expecting a C.. High school was kinda rough and anything over a C was quite fine with me... The next week we get the papers back and everyone got theirs but me... I'm thinking... I'm screwed... I bombed so bad the teacher threw it out... But no... The teacher starts reading off the paper... And what do you know... It's mine... An A paper... Written in 45 minutes... Truth be told... I doubt I even read the story... After that... I realized writing papers was a breeze... It was cake... Then I started writing blogs... I figured that nobody really wanted to listen to me rant and rave all the time... So I wrote it down... Then people actually started reading them... And told me they were good... So... I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place... Art just isn't what it used to be... It's just not fun anymore... I don't really enjoy it anymore... But it'll probably make me rich... On the other hand... I can write about ANYTHING for days.. . And even when I'm not into it... Its still good... So what am I too do... Well... For now... I'll keep doing the art thing... Maybe this is a phase... And I'll wake up one day and paint my masterpiece and be rich and forget all about this blog... In addition to that... I'm gonna read some books... Like... Real books... The good stuff... See where that takes me... Then... Maybe... I'll wake up and write my masterpiece... Get rich and say... "You know, I knew this day would come..." "I wrote about it on May 5th 2008"... Until one of those days come... I'll continue to be a slacker... Playing PlayStation... Scribbling on napkins... And writing blogs... All while maintaining my grades To continue my college courses on scholarship Did I mention that I AM IN COLLEGE Not dumb.... just bored..... |
