So this year for my birthday I decided to try out a new look....I don't wear makeup often...never get lashes. other than lipstick and eyebrow filler...that's all I've ever done....but this year I decided you're only 46 once....so I think for a DIY I did a really good job of trying to be as natural with makeup and blush as possible and found lashes that worked with my glasses...ladies I applaud you for this...because...the day after my bday.... I decided I will probably never do that again...it is too much work...too time consuming..and made me realize I have really aged😂.... I loved the look but it is way easier to just get up and go than to have to do so much and wait for stuff to set. Whew Chile...SHE was cute....but definitely took too much time. #Chapter46

First month into this new year and it has not been all smiles....However I stand strong because I know I am being strengthened for the rest of the year.


I still hold my head up and lift my hands to honor He... who is Most High... he continues to bless me daily. Be Well All😊

My present circumstances won’t determine where I can go. It will merely determine where I will start.

I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring.

In the new year, the glittering lights will brighten the dream-lined pathway of my future.

People will call your name, recognizing someone they think they know. But looking back at you from the mirror is a stranger with a haunted, hopeless expression.

Depression sufferers are trapped in a psychological hellish twilight zone.


You will have a filtered look of them. I have placed fake smiles, fake laughs, all to hide away my real feelings to all. Its not something that passes in a day or week, but a lifetime of struggle. I've struggled since 13 and have had highs and very lows in my journey to accept me and have others accept and understand me.

Mental health, especially in the black community, has always been nothing we talked about. When I became a mother and saw my children began to also suffer from depression and anxiety I knew it was necessary to seek help, guidance, and understanding to be a better mom and better person.

Seeking help, and acknowledging your weakness is what makes you a better person. Allowing yourself to accept your imperfections will help other know its ok to have imperfections.

My children seeing that I also share what they are struggling with helps them understand its ok to need help.

Breaking the cycle started with me

Who I am today....is not who I was yesterday. Transitions should be constant, not limited. Even my spirit has grown. I may still have some of my old ways but I am not my old self. I hear people say "I'm the same me I was back in the day." Well I'm not... this life has shown me that growing from that me to who stands before you today...is definitely a better version of myself.❤ #GrowthIsNecessary

When you don't dress like everyone else....then you don't think like everyone else.... be true to yourself! Fashion is a statement you make unspoken!
