personal message

Well, I have had the pleasure and blessing of celebrating my 42nd Birthday. Initially it was a bitter-sweet day for me because of memories from my past. The day in itself was a wonderful day, it was the year's that reminded me of someone and I guess I self-imposed a cloud over that particular year. Since the day has past, I can say that I am better...much better! I have had the pleasure of meeting a new friend whom thus far is a really nice person. But as in all situations with me I am in a constant state of hmmm? Today at the get-together some of you from BP showed up and some of you didn't get the chance. I am thankful to you all just the same. There is one person in particular whom I really wanted to attend but, circumstances dictated otherwise. Regardless, it was what it was and I am still sittin' upon a cloud..

I Believe That our background and circumstances May have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

I Believe That no matter how good a friend is, they are going to hurt you once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe That just because someone does not love you the way you want them to, does not mean they don't love you with all they have.

I Believe That it takes a while to become the type of person you want to be.

I Believe That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see each other.

I Believe That you either control your attitude or your attitude controls you.

I Believe That money is a lousy way to measure your self worth

I Believe That sometimes when I'm angry and I have the right to be angry, but that does not give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe That it is not enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to forgive yourself.

I Believe That no matter how badly your heart has been broken, the world does not stop for your grief.

I Believe That people you care about most are taken away far too soon.

I Believe That life is far more precious than money.

Consider being a little less selfish. As men, we are not banished from the kitchen. There is nothing wrong with fixing something to eat for that special someone. There is nothing wrong with us waiting on that special lady when she comes home from work. Doing the things that she normally does will not only benefit her but, it will benefit you. No I don't mean in a sexual way. Do you men realize that women consider it attractive for their man or any man for that matter to prepare a meal for them? I strongly suggest that you do these things for your lady without any expectation at all! Too many times we do little things in expectance for some type or reward...(usually sexual). Men stop being caught up into believing that making love to your lady is simply a back rub and jump on. There really is more to it than that. Take the time to place rose petals all over the room leading her to a candle lit hot bath tub full of soap and water. Take the time to give her a sponge bath, dry her off, and then give her a massage without touching any of the erotic areas. You will learn the benefit of doing these things. Ladies, feel free to do the same things to your man. We may appear to be hard but only you know who we really are when the doors close.

NO GOOD MEN or KNOW GOOD MEN
MEN!...What in the hell is going on? There are more Women in the society today that are simply fed up with the lies, deception, and the abuse! So many women who are with a man simply state..."something is better than nothing." Women with a (part-time aka married man) say, "a piece of man beats no man at all." And women without a man are saying, "that's it, I give up...I quit...I'm gonna start seeing women!"

Collectively they all say ~ "THERE ARE NO GOOD MEN!"

A simple phrase? but one whose meaning changes depending on where and how you choose to breath when you say it; and how you breath when you say it can have life altering effects if your waiting to exhale.

No good men! A declarative statement with each word said emphatically to let people know that you believe that down to their core, men are no good. There is no hope of a relationship with this mindset, at least not with a man. Who would want a relationship with someone that was inherently no good; and who would want to be in a relationship with someone that saw/treated them that way.

No good men. This one states there are men around, but there aren?t any quality ones. There is hope of a relationship here? just not a good one. You don?t expect much from an inferior product? and since people tend to live up to expectations, you will generally get what you expect.

No, good men... This optimistic state says, you get hurt by a man, not men, and despite the bad one(s) you had, there are still good ones out there. While there is more chance of them getting hurt than the other two groups, there is a much better chance for people with this mind-set to find someone.

I have had a bunch of discussions with several female friends over the man thing recently. I know there are several million of us brothers who have issues above and beyond the call of insanity, so that was a no-brainer. I also had to concede to several other facts.; a few of which are:

Although I don?t like the mind-set that men should be discriminated against based on physical endowment any more than women should be based on weight, a large percentage of men who cheat consistently are less endowed (which gives new meaning to the concept of make-up sex).
Men lie when you tell them they don?t have to (I could defend it? but I?d be lying!!)
The average man does not know what he is doing sexually, and is not willing to do what it takes to learn how to be better. But hey, I was also conceded victory on the several facts, including the flip side of the previous ones:

Average size men seem under-sized to over-sized women
Women always want honesty, but don?t always want to hear the truth. And since 33% of all paternity suits prove that it's impossible for the father to be the father, there is a lot of lying going on both ways.
Women often confuse their accessibility with their ability, ?cause even if it?s bad, men will keep coming back if it?s available.

In some case women lack self-esteem, key word "self". Take control of this ladies. But the best discussions I had were with God (yes, we talk about everything). And so I thought I would put the info that He gave me out there for ?net consumption. The bottom line is: God believes that there are good men out there. Why? Because He made them, and He has a tendency to know what He is doing. You will never find a perfect man, because God will never make one. Not only that, a woman will never have one that is perfect for her. Why? God plans to keep perfecting us throughout our lives. So if you find a man that is perfect for you, he is still being perfected by God and thus he will eventually change from your version of perfection. Also, women are still being perfected by God, so what is perfect for you now will change down the line.

The best men to find are ones who are openly being perfected by God, so you have an opportunity to fall in love with their good points, their bad points, and most of all their perfection process. (ie. where God is taking them). But are you willing to embrace their faults when they express them, or do you want to continue look for the fantasy of the man who has it all. If you can accept men as eternal works in progress the way that God does, and accept His definition of good (and not Sister 2 Sister?s), you may find that Mr. Right is not Perfect, but he is still pretty? Good. Rev. John Cherry once said, ?Marriage is a commitment to imperfection?. I couldn?t have said it better myself (that?s why I quoted him). So when you look for a committed relationship? that?s the commitment that you need to make first.

Sooooo, which inflection should you use:

Know good men! If a man seems too good to be true, he is. If he seems perfect, either he is lying to you, or you are lying to yourself about him ( just make sure you know which one it is so you can place the blame fairly later on). Chris Rock said you don?t initially meet the person, you meet their representative. Well, you have to give the person enough time for the rep to leave and the real person to show up. Anything/everything you give before then is not sharing, it?s a donation; so don?t get mad if you don?t get it back, or get equal value. A few years ago, Essence Magazine had an article on how to know a good man. One thing they said was, his friends are a bunch of great guys; so good men travel in bunches. Once you know good men, and one of them findeth you worth having, and he lays his cards on the table (ie. makes a proposal), you can either accept or reject him based on his good, his bad, and his process.

Photobucket Juneteenth is a holiday that has celebrated the emancipation of Texas slaves for over 100 years. While its roots are in Texas, it has become a special day for African Americans all around the United States. The celebration of Juneteenth began in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865. It was on this day that the slaves in Galveston learned that they were free. Major General Gordon arrived in Galveston bearing the good news. Upon the General's arrival, he read General Order Number 3 to the newly freed slaves from the balcony of Ashton Villa in Galveston, Texas. For these slaves the news of freedom came two and a half years after the issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. Despite the delay, it was a day to celebrate freedom. Thereafter June 19 remained an important day. Juneteenth is a day on which honor and respect is paid for the sufferings of slavery. It is a day on which we acknowledge the evils of slavery and its aftermath. On Juneteenth we talk about our history and realize because of it, there will forever be a bond between us.

REAL FRIENDS!

Posted

Have you ever wondered why there are so many men and women who can't be just friends? I have. It seems as though everyone wants to be more than friends but once each respective person get what they want out of the relationship...everything is over. Usually it is either physical and or financial. It seems to me that people really don't want to just have a friend of the opposite sex. I have considered the reasons for this and here are a two. For men, it shows a less tough side... (continue reading)
