-ME-
I am a 34 year old professional African American male living in a town in Missouri that is not too far from KC or STL. Halloween is the day of my birth (scorpio for those of you that enjoy the astrology thing). I am a rare breed of man because I have made it this far in life, and have not been married or engaged, nor do I have any children. My stats are 6`2'' 240 lbs (some people just like to know). I have lived in Arkansas nearly all of my life; even though I am in Missouri now. I am an Alumni of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville (Razorbacks). Hopefully someday I will be blessed with a Master`s. I work within the Recreation of the city in which I reside. I do my best to be a father figure to many. There are too many young ones walking around here without one. Please allow me to give MUCH credit to the single moms out there handling business by raising their child/children in a positive manner. And let me always give MUCH credit to the Fathers out there that are GOOD daddies. I enjoy anything fun... my saying is "if its legal, safe and fun, then I`M DOWN!!!" ha ha.

-SOMETHING FOR THE LADIES TO SOAK IN-
Ladies... Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, Middle Eastern... Or whatever race you may be in between; don`t make the HORRIBLE mistake of trying to judge a man based on some rule you heard, article you read, quiz you have taken, or some test you have given. All of those things in my book are considered "games". But many women seem to LOVE to say "I don`t have time for no games" when it comes to men. That is a lot of B.S. It`s almost like you are LOOKING for a reason to not be happy. One cannot judge ANY man by one criteria. We are all cut from a different mold, experienced a different nature; and nurtured differently. Follow your heart; not the minds of others.
I also want to say this... It trips me out when I see "women" saying "n*gga this, n*gga that".. "where are the real n*ggas, where are the fine @$$ n*ggas" etc. I then see women complaining about "n*ggas always do this, n*ggas always do that" Hmm.. Here is a piece of advice for all of you ... Stop looking for and dealing with these "n*ggas" and start looking for and dealing with MEN. Seems that is the problem. You get what you ask and look for. In Fact, that word and any version of spelling it PERIOD drives me insane. It is so derogatory. If you want to use it to talk badly about someone, that is one thing; but to use it as a name for all black males is simply wrong. Notice, I said males, not men. MEN would not allow themselves to be referred to as that. If you are not willing to have a non-black call you that, then you certainly should not call each other that.
A lady friend sent this to me a long time ago; I really love the truth in it.
BLACK MEN
"Good Black Men are indeed all around us. We pass them on the street, in the malls and the halls at work. Most we can`t see because we don`t know what a good man really looks like. He usually isn`t flashy enough or rich enough to turn our heads. He might not wear a suit or push a Lex. He might not have a "body like Tyson with a Denzel face." But, asyou mature, you realize it`s better to find someone who`s got your back than someone who turns your head. A good man doesn`t agree wholeheartedly with everything you say. He doesn`t just tell you what you want to hear and do the opposite. He doesn`t declare how sensitive, sweet, caring, sincere, yada, yada he is (he won`t have to because it shows). He has his own opinions and yours may clash, but he doesn`t have to degrade you to prove he`s right. He even admits at times to being wrong, especially if you are willing to do the same. A good man is not going to meet every item on your checklist. He is human with frailties and faults mixed in with all of his wonderful, strong attributes. He needs your love and respect. He needs to feel that you don`t live to "catch" him doing something wrong
so you can declare, "Aha! I knew you were a dog!!" A good man doesn`t necessarily give you a huge birthday or Valentine`s gift. He shows his love in the ways that are comfortable to him. Don`t judge him by TV standards. No one is really living that fairy tale. You`ll miss out on your own fairy tale by buying into the myth that our men are no good. It`s just not true. Black Men, we salute you, and thank you for who you are and all that you have done."
