While the people who posted gave decent advice, those exercises are going to build strength and muscle. They aint going to make fat dissappear. The only way to get rid of any fat on the body is to lose weight. They tell men who want a six pack to do this or that for the stomach but the only way the muscles gone show is to lose the belly fat. And there is nothing magical they can do to just lose fat there except tedious excercise.  Sit ups etc are not the cause of lost belly fat per se. Its that its an excercise and any type excercise burns fat but it going to take more than just sit-ups.  Sit ups build the core with muscle that shows after the fat is lost. You can do the excercises they suggest and your back will get more muscular and stronger, but this in itself wont melt the fat. Get on a stationary bike for a half hour a day. Make it so that its steady peddling, not so hard that its cardio, you dont want cardio but you want it at a difficulty that you sweat. You have to sweat. If you aint sweating then you wasting your time. You do that, and is consistent over months, not only will it burn fat off your back but everywhere else too. Consistency is key.
