personal message

Native San Franciscan (not many of us around here any more) that enjoys traveling, meeting new people, running my mouth, cooking Cajun cuisine like Jambalaya, gumbo and etouffe, outdoor activities (camping, fishing and gardening), reading, learning to salsa dance, working out at the gym trying to get my "buff" on, partying a little here and there, and personal development. Blessed with good genes (thank you Mom and Dad!), I'm holding up pretty well as I go through life.

For several years I've been on quest for spiritual knowledge, including reading books about psychics, angels, and what happens to us after we die. That is because someone I loved very dearly was killed in an auto accident and I had a hard time accepting that he was gone. I needed information, so I got it!

I enjoy being creative and enjoy expressing my thoughts and feelings in written form. For work I write frequently on black male/female romantic relationships, including many articles and advice columns for my own website and others.

In 2007 I wrote a book for singles entitled Sucka Free Love - How to Avoid Dating The Dumb, The Deceitful, The Dastardly, The Dysfunctional and The Deranged!

It's quite funny, while at the same time it is a butt kicking examination of the folly and crazy situations people find themselves in while searching for love.

In February 2008 I began hosting an Internet radio talk show on male/female relationships that you can listen to right here. The show airs on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m (Pacific Time).

Log onto my host page to hear podcasts or see what I have scheduled to talk about.

Child Sexual Abuse in the Black Community

Please help me collect participants in a very important research project on Black America.

This first ever survey is collecting data on the frequency, type, duration and perpetrators of child sexual abuse in the African American community - a long held secret that most people deny is occurring.

From "Tina":  "One of my friends was molested from the age of 4 by her step father. At age 10/11 he raped her -- and she told ME. And begged me not to tell anyone. For... (continue reading)

Is She THICK or Is she FAT?

Can you please take a second and share your opinion? There are 5 choices on the survey. I'm trying to get at least 300 responses to make the survey valid for something I'm working on. Your help getting the word out to other people would also be appreciated. :)

Please respond to this survey on "Thickness"

The Emotionally Abusive Black Man

(c)2010 Deborrah Cooper

Both depression and obesity are at epidemic levels amongst Black women in the U.S. Could these afflictions be attributable to stressful interactions and relationships with Black men? I believe so. The most abusive men tend to be those that feel the... (continue reading)
