In American Gangster Common plays Turner Lucas, brother of Frank Lucas (Washington) and father to Stevie (rapper T.I) Common is a Grammy Award-Winning artist who made his big-screen debut as a musical performer in Dave Chapppelle's Block Party in 2006. In January 2007, he made his acting debut, co-starring opposite Jeremy Piven, Ben Affleck, Alicia Keys and Ryan Reynolds, in Smokin' Aces for Universal Pictures and writer/director Joe Carnahan. Common recently wrapped filming on "Wanted", with co-stars Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie, and on David Ayer's The Night Watchman, starring Keanu Reeves and Forrest Whitaker.
