I find the case of Cameron Todd Willingham, executed by Texas in 2004, one of the most egregious miscarriages of justice ever documented in the annals of U.S. jurisprudence.
For those of you not familiar with this case, Willingham's house caught fire in 1991 killing his three children and burning himself. The fire department concluded that the fire was arson and the police concluded that Willingham started it. The entire case was based on the fire departments investigation pointing to arson.... I came into fatherhood late. This is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because I had time to grow within myself.
