  THE STORM IS OVER NOW ! ! ! ! TO ALL MY BP FRIENDS: Thank you ALL for being SO supportive, for writing ALL those letters. Thank you for your prayers! Mostly I'd like to thank: GOD he saved me. You don't understand? Well heres what happened... I was born and raised in NJ, I attended Kean college in Union NJ, and not long after graduation I began a rewarding career as a high school History teacher. In 2005 I moved to Pennsylvania because the car insurance, rent and general cost of living is far more manageable than New Jersey's economy. At first it was pleasant; Trees fresh air, and decent people, or so I thought. In June of 2006, on a beautiful warm evening my life was tragically altered by an incident at a social event that spiraled out of control. I was invited by a friend to a party in Bethlehem Township Pennsylvania. The man I went to the affair with was white and when I arrived I soon discovered that everyone at the party but me was white. Initially I didn't give it much thought. As it turns the man I was with had a problem with a person whom was already at the function and before we even entered the home they began a shouting match that escalated rapidly into a physical confrontation. I decided that I had not come to the affair for an altercation so I watched for a brief moment. As I stood another man (A friend of the man fighting with my friend) struck me in my face with a 40 oz bottle of beer. I did not fall but instead I punched the man in his face. We both fell into some bushes. At that moment a swarm of white boys jumped me: They overpowered me in an instant. They kicked me. They held me by my arms. Pulled my loc's, punched and stomped me. While doing this they yelled "Kill that N#gger; Kill that N#gger!-Kill that ...!" After a short while I felt my life in danger. In my back pocket I had a pocket knife; a small fold out knife and with it I began to defend myself; to get them off of me: To LIVE! Yes some of them were cut. No, none of them were seriously harmed or killed. Days later, after I went to the police station of my own free will, I was arrested and charged with attempted homicide. I was put in jail for 17 months and none of my attackers were charged with ANYTHING: NOTHING. I was the black man. I was the guilty party. I have no prior criminal history and ALL of my attackers DO! (one for having machine guns and cocaine in his trunk-He by the way was on probation and wasn't even supposed to be at the party-Another has an assault record, and the third can't seem to drive sober) At my trial the judge ordered that my attorney "Would not be allowed to bring up any of their prior recordsd" After an acquittal at my trial the Northampton County District Attorneys office has ordered me to stand trial again.
