He was born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico on February 15 and on that day a star was born. De La Raza has given many great contributions to the world of music, not only within the Latino industry, but within the Hip-Hop culture as well. De La Raza is the former Editor and Chief of The Source Magazine latino division and was directly quoted as A Visionary for the magazine and co-founder with Edwardo Dejesus Benzino's father. De La Raza was also the man behind the creation of The Source Latino, to which he was called a genius in the premier issue. The Source Magazine was the only magazine of its time to cover the lives and stories of the world's best latino rappers and entertainers, and De La Raza was the man resposible for making history by making yankee the first latino rapper to make the front cover of this 15 year black publication but still not acknoleged for this achievment ; Yo yank! i'm still waiting for your thanks! The Source Magazine also opened great opportunites for De La Raza, one of which was becoming the Cheif of Operations of All Access, the DVD Magizine. All Access is a DVD series that covers interviews with the music industries best artists visually, so that the viewer feels as though they are doing the interview with their favorite star. De La Raza was a rolling stone throughout the music industry, and he started his career with radio in the late 80's. He was one of the two national radio personalities in the United States and was coined with the nickname The Radio Man. People still refer to him as The Radio Man to this day and he takes great pride in it. His show was the pioneer in broadcasting Latino Hip Hop and El Underground ranging from New York to Orlando. De La Raza was also a master mind in television. He became the program director of Latin Television Networks in New York City after a few short years of working with the network. With radio and television under his belt, De La Raza ventured into the music industry and concured it all head on. He has been credited with starting the careers of Don Chezina, Vico C, Boricua Guerreros, Mexicano 777, Tempo and Daddy Yankee who went on to become one of the industrie's favorites. Not only was he a well respected producer for these artists, but he was also an award winning producer for a long list of other artists. People such as Tito Puente Jr., Ruthless Rec, Wu-Tang's, 12 o'clock, Baby J, Doc S.P.I.C, Spanish Fly, LL Cool J, Gloria Estefan, Big Pun and The Fat Boys. De La Raza proudly showcases his gold plaques as a reminder of the hard work and dedication that he put into his work, and a reminder of how it all paid off. De La Raza has engeneed and remixed with greats like Joel Diamond, Jerry Heller, Rudy Perez, Emilio Estafan and Eddie Montilla. He was also the CEO of Parc Studios in Orlando and worked alongside the legendary Lou Pearlman and Jonny Wright, and produced the great R. Kelly, Backstreet Boys, NSync, Genuwine and Mandy Moore. De La Raza spent many years being one of the most influential people behind the scenes and by doing so, taught others what it took to be a star. De La Raza took a few of his own lessons. He acted in several feature films, Dirty Shield,The Bahama Hustle,Senorita Justice, and Carlita's Secret. De La Raza has also appeared in several documentaries, The Chosen Few,Latin Kings,La Gasolina, and the Big Pun Documentary. He has also performed at several venues with his singing and rapping artistry alongside the Tito Puente Orchestra and The Salsoul Players. As a performer, De La Raza, who is Tito Puente's nephew, has a history of captivating every type of crowd and leaving them wanting more,He has been awarded presidentail honors from Mexico, Nicaragua, Santo Domingo Cursuao, Venesuela Radio Musica, Latin Billboard Televisa, Premio lo nuestro and many other's!!.
