For 15 years there has been a DJ on the radio in Raleigh, North Carolina, like no other, helping to make WQOK-97.5 one of the top radio stations in the Carolina's. DVS was born in Warrenton, NC and moved to Raleigh shortly after. In 1989 he began mixing at a WLLE 570, a small AM radio station. He quickly moved up to college radio to host and DJ a hip hop show at WKNC 88.1 North Carolina State University, one of the top college stations in the country. Every Sunday night at 9pm, DVS would blaze the air wave with pure hip hop at its finest. This help to set the local hip hop scene on fire. After several attempts to get his foot in the door at the local radio station (WQOK 97.5), opportunity finally knocked in 1994 and DVS kicked the door in. DVS can be heard Monday thru Thursday night 7pm to 12mid and Saturday night live from the club in Raleigh.
