"In my opinion there are two kinds of vocalists: those who admit that they
are influenced by the artists who have come before them and the things
they see around them and those who pretend otherwise.

The majority of us don't just copy what we've heard and admire, but we
manage somehow to absorb it, to pull it's essence into ourselves and distill
it into our creative work. What we love becomes a part of us!

My music flows, swings and embraces the listener. It is Jazz in it's purest
form; intelligent, witty, gentle and graceful. My primary objective is for the
listener to have a good time, which is why I love ballads so much.
They allow the music to breathe and capture the audience!!

I will never be accused of shopping for a canoe, when God has already told
me to build an ark. When complacency exceeds my desire to change, the
consequence is concession and chaos! I have learned that all things that
resist change, are changed by that resistance!

The renewal of the mind is an ongoing process. It's hard to appreciate
anything without being exposed to it, which is true for
everybody....however old we are. Whether through firsthand experience,
reading, being taught by another or in conversation, the mind is broadened
by all it encounters. Especially musically and creatively!!"

-Victor Cager

The two most important times in a person's life are: 1) When they are born and 2) When they realize why they were born.

-Farrah Gray

"I would teach children music, physics and philosophy; But more
importantly music, for in the patterns of music and all the arts are the keys
to learning"
-Plato
