personal message

Hello to you all!
Just a few questions for all to think on.
When did it become cool not to smile?
Why do people value jail time more than education? 10 years in the pen is valued more than a person that struggled through ten years of undergraduate education while raising a family.
When did it become cooler to be a "Thug" than being a man that takes care of his responsibilities? (Seriously)
Why is it cool to be dumb, have bad grades, or show out in class?
Why is it that when we leave the hood, we ain't keep'n it real?

I've just come to a point in my life where the realizations of what's important rule my thoughts.

Your health. Without it, nothing else matters.
Your family, without them who and what are you really?
Your time, spend it wisely, as once its gone there is no going back.

Where does your joy and happiness lie? Is it in the materials you've acquired? The car you drive? The clothes you wear? The parties you attend? Is what you project more important than what you really are?
When you get home are you really happy? Or can you only think about keeping up with Jones'?

Once we have the total realization that our lives are really about creating memories, through love, family, and friendship, we can begin to enjoy what life has for us. When we realize that stardom and fame are fleeting, and that our legacy is created through time with our children and loved ones, and not on our rims and bling, we can begin to grow.

In order to be truly comfortable with ourselves, we have to spend time asking these questions of ourselves and answering them honestly.
In the end you don't get to take any of what you "acquired" along the way, and the only thing you truly leave behind is the part of you that you have given others.

One love.
