Greetings planeteers. I've been on BP for awhile and have decided to update my page. If I'm not on here, feel free to facebook me! First, the screen name. DoTheMaff is a motto I live by. Basically it means being able to assess opportunities, set goals, and progress accordingly.
I'm from North Carolina. Born and raised. On the playground is where I spent most of my days, lol. These days most of my time is spent doing the grad school thing at NC A&T (Aggie born. Aggie bread. And when I die...you know the rest). I do like to travel and I'm into geography anthropology and just different cultures and architecture. One day I plan to travel the world. I would love to see Japan, Egypt, and South Africa.
In my spare time I like to work out, cook (and eat) and stay healthy. Not a big fan of Fast Food. I Can't remember the last time I was at Micky Ds'. (Although Taco Bell admittedly remains guilty pleasure) A lot of people talk about the body being a "temple" and how you should honor it. Usually this is said to discourage known vices/social taboos. Rarely is it applied to diet. I can't help but notice the irony of telling people not to drink, while you eat a bacon beef and donut burger. (and yes, this burger exists. google it!) I reccomend the book Fast Food Nation to anybody who hasn't read it. It is an excellent read and very eye opening.
which brings me to another hobby of mine. Reading! One book that really affected me Called The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. I do love the Lord (and not ashamed) and this is definately an insightful read for anybody who wants to know Him. And If you don't, you should because he thinks Currently on the reading list are Outliers and the Tipping Point both by Malcolm Gladwell, The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, and Sidney Poiriers' Memoir.
(You gotta love it!)
I'm a pretty confident person and think everyone should be. I know through hard work, preperation, and of course faith and I do all things. Hopefully, by this point I seem like the kind of person you might wanna get to know. I can be busy but not too busy to make new friends! So don't be scared. Send that note, lol. I wanna leave off on a quote I heard from a friend. It goes "life is not about finding yourself. It's about creating yourself." Think about it.
