2010 GENEOLOGY PROJECT Her name was Otelia Parker. She was the mother of 14 children. She was origianally from Osceola, AR. She married Sam Welton Lester, Sr., and they lived in Charlston, MS. She loved her children and she took very good care of them. She took pride in raising her children and giving them love from her heart. She was known for her high spirited personality and her fearless nature. It was said that she could fire a pistol and hit her target at 100 feet. "Don't mess with her chullun, and don't mess with her man!" She lived in Charleston, MS with Sam until her death in 1942. It was said that Sam worked for the railroad.
Her legacy remains today. Many of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren still live in the TN, AR, MS areas.
The purpose of this blog is to find any other family members, and to gain any additional information that will help us trace OUR history. The Parker/Lester Family Story.
On this quest to find myself, I have to go back to find out who i came from. In order to bring this family back together, I would like to reconnect with the past, embrace the present, and move forward to the future. I feel a personal responsibility to the children in our family to share information, pass down stories, talk about places and share other vital information that will help them know and understand who they are. ...to know their history.
