Let us not copy the past behaviors of the oppressive. Don't forget none of us have arrived. Let us continue to strive towards the excellence God intended. We all need each other, remember? It seems the further we move from struggle, the more we mistreat one another. Look how far we've come, but maybe we should go back huh? Because we lie on one another for money on court TV, fight like animals for attention on the talk shows, lock a man up for mistreating dogs, but overlook the neglect of the Katrina victims! Now who's going to jail for that? Some of them still haven't gotten paid. And by the way Wall Street is going broke, Chevrolet if filing bankruptcy, our children are dying in war as well as in school. Dying over oil and the color of their clothes! But we act like we don't care! We pay more attention to the style of our hair! And they just keep on building prisons to put our kids in (hey, at least it will create jobs they say). You know you can always hire half of the poor to kill the other half. And I went to church today, to try and find some peace, but they were arguing over the Homecoming menu (selah)! Video game sales are up, employment opportunities are down, CEOs are taking the money and running all over town! All the while Congress keeps giving them more tax money. Who is going to pay for that you think? It's okay though because we have a black president. Please pray for Obama cause it's like a game of chess! They want him to fix the big mess! And all the while criticizing his methods when he's only doing his best! It will get better though. But sorry Ms. Jackson, I am for real, because you just lost your home of 35 years because you can't pay the bills! Now ask yourself, is this progress? Or does oppression have a new scent? |
