Why do we play these silly games
With each others hearts pulling the
Strings of our emotions as the
Puppet master manipulates the
Chords of his puppet saying things
Which cause pain and hurt that we
Attempt to soothe over with
Caramel lies aimed at our minds
Causing us to forget the wrongs done
To each other

If we love each other as much as we
Confess why do we find it so hard
To express this repeatedly when
Once would suffice

I don know how to allay your
Fears and insecurities on whether
My love for you is deep enough
To weather the storms life brews up
Into the raging tempest of a full blown
Storm consuming all in its path before
It subsides once I've professed my thoughts
And my desires

Why must we play at these silly games
Like children upon the playground rather
Than the adults that we truly are for the
Path that we follow playing these silly
Little games flows like the labyrinth
Of old Greek lore turning and twisting
Until we reach a dead end searching
Frantically for an exit from this place
We now find ourselves

Let these silly games end and let us
Move forward hand in hand for if these
Games do not stop they will only consume
And then destroy us both

Why must we play these silly games
Sugar coating our hurts and pains
For we are only players upon
The board of life and we must await
The next hand played by fate.
