I am a home owner and life long resident of the Village of Hempstead. I first attended Prospect School and then Our lady of Loretto School before attending Maria Regina High School. I also attended DeVry Technical Institute and New York Institute of Technology. I am an Honorably Discharged United States Marine Corps Sergeant.
I am a member of the Gomillon-Campbell American Legion Post1488 and 3-term President of the Hempstead NAACP. I am also a Former Member Hempstead School Board Budget Advisory Committee, former member of the Hempstead Citizens Water Advisory Committee; where I was the Chairman of the Manpower and Security Committees. I am a 2-term Past Vice President of the Hempstead Kiwanis Club, 5-term Past President of The Eldridge Estates Civic Association and a 2-term Past Board Member of the 100 Black Men of Long Island. I have been been quoted in or featured on News 12 Long Island, Long Island Newsday, The New York Times, Daily News, Hempstead Beacon, Minority Business Review, Community Journal, Freedom Press, WBLS, WLIB, and WTHE. I have received many awards; some of them are the Eldridge Estates Civic Association Special Award; for helping to re-institute the civic association and producing over 1.2 million dollars in street repairs and capital improvements for the community, The NAACP Hempstead Branch, Branch Recognition Award; Man of the Year Award, The NAACP New York State Branch Presidents Award, The NAACP Long Island Region Community Service Award, The NAACP Hempstead Branch Veterans Recognition Award, THE NAACP Life Membership Award, 2 New York State Assembly Citations, 2 Nassau County Citations,a Town of Hempstead Citation, a Village of Hempstead Catation and The AKA Community Service Award.
