Elly Ess, dancehall reggae artist from Newark, NJ is hitting the scene hard with a unique blend of dancehall, hip hop and R&B. His diverse delivery has drawn interest from some of the biggest names in music including collaboration on a remake of the international hit "Bad Boys" featuring platinum selling artist, Jim Jones of Dip Set and dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel scheduled to be released winter 2008. His latest single invading the scene is "Shoo Fly (don't bother Me)" and includes a free ringtone and wallpaper that can be downloaded from www.myxer.com. Elly Ess is currently showcasing his talents at venues up and down the East Coast including an appearance at New Jersey's largest reggae concert, the New Jersey Reggae Fest. He has created quite a buzz in the tri-state area and is contracting bookings for upcoming events. His unique brand of dancehall music has had frequent airplay on New York City's most recognizable hip hop stations. Along with his brothers, hip-hop artist T-Burg and producer, Supah Shane, this dynamic trio has accomplishments including the "onward riddim" which features reggae artists, Capleton and Richie Spice. The "gangsta gangsta riddim" featuring dancehall artists, Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Aidonia, Munga, Bling Dawg, and more. Elly Ess was born with hip hop in NYC and raised in Clarendon, Jamaica where reggae music influences the world. One night as a young boy in Jamaica he was awakened by a cheering crowd and music coming from his father's bar. When he snuck into the crowded establishment and peeked around the corner he witnessed a local artist performing for an eager audience. At that moment Elly Ess realized his dream to become an artist and performer. When he moved to Newark, NJ as a young adult he knew his dreams could become a reality and has been pursuing it ever since. His music reflects his life, love of music and passion to perform. Elly Ess writes about his experiences and expresses them from his heart. He strives to be the best at everything he does and will keep making great music.
