Accountability: "Leaders Need Alarm Bells" (Galatians 6:7-10)
We can`t pull a fast one on God. He sees all and cannot be deceived. He notices our shortcuts and also our efforts when we do well. To ensure that we live by his truth, seek others to hold you ACCOUNTABLE and act as your "alarm bells." Invite others to ask you tough questions, such as the following:
1. Is my personal walk with God up-to-date?
2. Am I keeping my priorities straight?
3. Am I asking myself the hard questions?
4. Am I accountable to someone in authority?
5. Am I sensitive to what God is saying to the whole body of Christ?
6. Am I over-concernedwith building my image?
7. Do I put more stock in "events" rather than "process"?
8. Am I a loner in my leadership and personal life?
9. Am I aware and honest about my weaknesses?

1. Why is there evil and suffering?
Sigmund Freud called religion an illusion humans invent to satisfy their security needs. To him, a benevolent, all-powerful God seemed incongruent with natural disasters and human evil.
God, though sovereign, gave us freedom to follow Him or to disobey Him. This response does not answer all concerns (because He sometimes does intervene to thwart evil) but suggests that the problem of evil is not as great an intellectual obstacle to belief as some imagine.
Pain's emotional barrier to belief, however, remains formidable. Jesus understands suffering. He was scorned, beaten, and cruelly executed, carrying the guilt of our rebellion against God (Isa. 53:10).
When I see God, items on my long list of questions for Him will include a painful and unwanted divorce, betrayal by trusted coworkers, and all sorts of disappointing human behavior and natural disasters. Yet in Jesus' life, death, and resurrection I have seen enough to trust Him when He says He "causes all things to work together for good to those who love God" (Rom. 8:28).
2. What about all the contradictions in the Bible?
Ask your questioner for specific examples. Often people have none, but rely on hearsay. If there is a specific example, consider these guidelines as you respond.
Omission does not necessarily create contradiction. Luke, for example, writes of two angels at Jesus? tomb after the Resurrection (24:1-9). Matthew mentions "an angel" (28:1-8). Is this a contradiction? If Matthew stated that only one angel was present, the accounts would be dissonant. As it stands, they can be harmonized.
Differing accounts aren't necessarily contradictory. Matthew and Luke, for example, differ in their accounts of Jesus' birth. Luke records Joseph and Mary starting in Nazareth, traveling to Bethlehem (Jesus' birthplace), and returning to Nazareth (Luke 1:26-2:40). Matthew starts with Jesus' birth in Bethlehem, relates the family's journey to Egypt to escape King Herod's rage, and recounts their travel to Nazareth after Herod's death (Matt. 1:18-2:23). The Gospels never claim to be exhaustive records. Biographers must be selective. The accounts seem complementary, not contradictory.
Space precludes more complex examples here. But time and again, supposed biblical problems fade in light of logic, history, and archaeology. The Bible's track record under scrutiny argues for its trustworthiness.
3. What about those who never hear of Jesus?
God's perfect love and justice far exceed our own. Whatever He decides will be loving and fair. A friend once told me that many asking this question seek a personal loophole, a way so they won?t need to believe in Christ. C.S. Lewis in Mere Christianity wrote, "If you are worried about the people outside [of Christianity], the most unreasonable thing you can do is to remain outside yourself." If Christianity is true, the most logical behavior for someone concerned about those without Christ's message would be to trust Christ and go tell them about Him.
4. How can Jesus be the only way to God?
When I was in high school, a recent alumnus visited, saying he had found Christ at Harvard. I respected his character and tact and listened intently. But I could not stomach Jesus' claim that "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me" (John 14:6).
Two years later, my spiritual intellectual journey had changed my view. The logic that drew me to his p o s i t i o n involves three questions:
If God exists, could there be only one way to reach Him? To be open-minded, I had to admit this possibility.
Why consider Jesus as a candidate for that possible one way? He claimed it. His plan of rescuing humans ("by grace. . .through faith. . . not . . .works," Eph. 2:8-9) was distinct from those requiring works, as many other religions do. These two kinds of systems were mutually exclusive. Both could be false or either could be true, but both could not be true.
Was Jesus' plan true? Historical evidence for His resurrection, fulfilled prophecy and deity, and for the reliability of the New Testament, convinced me I could trust His words.

I ask that you would search out and bring into the light any unconfessed sin or act of wickedness in this place. I apply the blood of Jesus Christ to break the power of enemy spirits attached to this home. Heavenly Father, you are my Refuge and my Rock. You are in control of everything that happens in my life. I am your servant, called by your name. Thank you for giving me the helmet of salvation - my identity in your Son is secure. Nothing can separate me from your love. Thank you for forgiving and cleansing my guilt (proceed with any confession that might be needed). I put on your breastplate of righteousness. Holy Spirit, search out and bring into light any schemes of darkness directed at me. I take up the shield of faith to stand against the works of the evil one. In Jesus' name, I stand on the truth of the Word of God:"The reason the Son of God appeared was to detroy the devil's work.( 1 John 3:8 - in the back of the Bible)
Prayer for Resistance:
Satan, I rebuke you in the authority of Jesus Christ. I declare your works in my life destroyed. Jesus triumphed over you in the wilderness, on the Cross and and in the grave. His resurrection has sealed your fate. I triumph over you now in the strength of his name. I resist and rebuke your efforts to oppress, afflict, or deceive me. I remove from you the right to rob me of the joy and fruit of my salvation. Through the power of the blood of Calvary, I command all powers of darkness assigned to me, sent to me, or surrounding me now, to leave. Go where Jesus Christ tells you to go, never to return.
Prayer for Protection:
Lord, Your Word declares that you will shield and protect your children from the power of the evil one (Psalm 97:10; John 17:5; 2 Thessolonians 3:3). You are El Elyon, the Most High God, sovereign Lord of all things visible and invisible. Everything is in your hand. I ask you, in the name of Jesus, to shield (name the people - I usualy say me, my family, business partners, congregation, my pastor, friends, etc.) with the presence of Your Spirit (Psalm 3:3). May your glory follow after______as a rear guard (Isaiah 58:8). Lord, be a refuge to __________. Support (him/her/us) with your everlasting arms, and drive the enemy away (Deut. 33:27). Assign and send your holy angels to protect and deliver your servant from danger (Psalm 34:7; Psalm 91:9-11). I commend ________________to your watchful care. I ask that no purpose of yours be thwarted by the interference of Satan and his forces (Job 42:2). Father, in accordance with Jesus' prayer, deliver________from all evil.
Cleansing a place: (Now if you are in a dressing room on a set, you don't have to do it aloud with people putting on make-up for you, etc. You can do it quitely before you get there or when no one is in there or get in there early, etc. They don't have to know what you are doing. Remember, this battle is one we cannot see with our physical eyes. It is with our "spiritual eyes"
Lord, I claim this place for your purposes. I stand on the truth of Your Word: "The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous" (Psalm 125:3). I believe you have given me this place (home, business, condo, motel room). I dedicate it to you, and ask you to fill it with your holy presence. I separate myself from any iniquity that has occurred here in past times. I apply the power of Jesus' blood to remove any desecration of God's name in this place. I ask you, in Jesus' authority, to set watching angels around this property, protecting your servant from the work of the evil one. (If this is a hotel or motel room, dressing room, etc. - you can add the following:) Father, I ask for your holy presence and holy angels to linger here, to touch the lives of those who inhabit the room after me. Bring conviction to their hearts, and draw them to seek after you.

I stand on the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, whose name is above every name, to weaken the power of evil in this place. Through the blood of Christ, I remove all desecration of the name of God that was prompted either by human or demonic beings. I command all enemies of Jesus Christ that have access to this place, or who may be here now...to leave. Go now where you are ordered to go, by the voice of the Holy Spirit. I claim this property for the kingdom of light. I order all darkness to flee, in the name of Jesus the King.
