The truth is that this President has done a good job in what has been one of the most difficult periods of modern history.

He saved the economy from ruin (until the Tea Party took over Congress) with a stimulus that was as large as possible given the political realities; presided over a stock market that fairly quickly recouped many of its losses; presided over many consecutive monthly increases in private sector job growth (including last month’s 124,000 jobs) (unfortunately reports of late of monthly decreases in public sector jobs which I attribute to the GOP further starving government); enacted the only meaningful healthcare reform EVER in our history; passed financial reform; Saved the auto industry (which Romney is on record opposing); fired the first salvo of the Arab Spring with his address in Cairo no less; drawn down our footprint in Iraq in a responsible way (and shortly-total withdrawal); stopped numerous terrorist attacks in this country; stopped torture as policy; repealed DADT; joined the international community in a measured and responsible way to bring down an odious tyrant in Qaddafi, and killed a whole generation of al Qaeda leaders.

Taking out Osama bin Laden the way he did will go down as one of the bravest military actions in American history. Redefined the way future wars will be fought by working with United Nations against Libya and not putting any American soldiers on the ground.

Whenever you anyone casually regurgitates this idea that this President somehow “lacks leadership,” you may regard it as a total hyperbolic partisanship and an obvious fantasy, deliberately and aggressively staged by Fox N Friends on the Right.

Sen. Sanders Leads Effort to Clamp Down on Oil Speculators

Rampant speculation has artificially pushed up gasoline prices to nearly $4 a gallon. Sen. Bernie Sanders "is fighting back," ABC News reported. A letter signed by 70 members of Congress - 23 senators and 47 members of the House - told federal regulators to enforce provisions of the Wall Street reform law and curb speculation in crude oil markets.

They stressed that gasoline prices are up despite high supplies and low demand. According... (continue reading)

"Starting first thing in the morning and going late into the night, hunched over every briefing, he reads every word of every memo so that he is more prepared than the people briefing him, writing notes, asking questions.  This is who your President is.  That's who you elected, because all those wins and losses, trust me, are not wins and losses for him.  They're wins and losses for the folks whose stories... Don't blame this mess on Obama

During the past year, the private sector has added 1.6 million jobs, state and local governments have shed at least 142,000 positions, according to the Labor Department. Those losses are in addition to 200,000 public-sector jobs lost in 2010 and more than 500,000 since the start of the recession. States and cities had to lay off workers because of declining tax revenues, or reduced federal... (continue reading)
