Created by black comic writer Christopher Priest, the Crew was initially mistaken as a black Avengers super-group, but during it\'s limited run it was the grittiest, most complex black comic ever. Taking a disparate, broken set of black anti-heroes - Junta (who controls gravity), Josiah X (son of the first black Captain America), Casper Cole (White Tiger, a Black Panther analogue) and War Machine (an Iron Man clone) - Priest forged a superteam out of the Marvel Universes black cast offs and created a powerful series about loyalty and good in a grey world of difficult choices. Like all amazing, great black things, the series was canceled after just a few issues.
