Formula808 is looking for Journalism, Marketing/Promotion (Street Team) and Photography internships! "Formula 808 Magazine" is the premier, multi-cultural media outlet for entrepreneurs and entertainers. Through persistent interaction with our community we have developed the need for loyal, self-driven and dedicated individuals. As of November 1, 2008, we will accept applications for Journalism, Marketing/Promotion (Street Team) and Photography interns. Positions are unpaid however, applicants can gain experience, exposure, and access to the entertainment industry with the possibility of a paid position. All candidates are required to email a resume and portfolio of previous work (published or unpublished). Candidates are preferred to be enrolled in a two-four year collegiate institute with 2 years experience or have a diploma/G.E.D with 4-6 years experience. Length of employment will be 3-6 months depending on performance.

Journalism:

Formula808 is looking for Journalism interns to contribute to our online and print publication. Interns will assist in various areas including (but not limited to) news, interviews, album reviews and event coverage. Interns may receive press passes to events for coverage via Formula808 and be scheduled for phone/in-person interviews with artists, models, actors, athletes, etc. based on location. All candidates will be expected to meet deadlines and be knowledgeable in all areas of journalism/media.

Marketing/Promotions (Street Team):

Formula808's promotional team will consist of energetic, outgoing individuals whose objective is to market and promote the Formula808 name in a positive and consistent manner using various promotional materials. Individuals will be expected to use various marketing techniques as well as develop new marketing plans to create visibility for both outlets. Interns will receive promotional materials including (but not limited to) t-shirts, stickers, mix-tapes and banners. Interns will be expected to attend school/community functions as well as travel with the publication. Individuals will also be required to attend local concerts and add names to our newsletters.

Photography:

Photography interns will be required to photograph various events (i.e. parties, concerts of different genres, fashion shows, models, and entrepreneurs) as well as company photo-shoots. Photographers may be asked to travel with the publication as well. Photos will be used for the publication's print edition and web photo-gallery section. Formula808 will be responsible obtaining access for events.

*SPECIFIC TO MODELS

In Addition, Formula 808 models will be asked to travel, at (primarily) their expense, with the publication to promote the organization. Formula 808 will make every possible effort to accommodate each participant to offset expenses. Models will be notified 72 hours in advance and should receive a memo detailing the event. It will be your responsibility to communicate with the fashion director, Sharlieh (Shay) Poindexter@317-513-8925, as to what accommodations are needed for your participation. We promote entrepreneurship in every field weather it be independent labels or self owned and operated businesses. Also Formula 808 provides a platform to advertise and let your artistic voice and accomplishments be seen respected and acknowledged. We focus on the formula to each individual or groups success to date. This in turn will give a sense of direction to who those who aspire to be in that particular field.

Examples: modeling, broadcasting, DJs, poetry, comedy,marketing, acting etc.

Keep in mind that by giving your formula or following a formula does not guarantee the same product or outcome. It still takes strategic planning and positioning. Our formula: Having a common goal , purpose, plan. Finding a solid team where all team members commitment to the process is vital. Organization is very important and can be the deciding factor of you failing or succeeding. It also takes a strong faith to make it through the process.

The key to our success to date is practicing resilience in the midst of adversities and putting our trust in God. Never forgetting to keep good relationships and treat others the way we want to be treated.
