Is it disrespectful to call someone honey, hun, dear? These are terms I've been using for ages, and someone on bp found it disrespectful.

My fear is that one day I'll open a door for a lady and she'll get the wrong idea and get offended.

i agree with all these ladies. although you can get more flies with honey than you can vinegar, using those terms via the internet without personal knowledge of the person seems like you are trying to fatten em up for the kill. it does not feel authentic and is sometimes a little creepy.
