"No one tests the depth of a river with both feet"
Red, black and green are the Garvey colors, after Marcus Garvey, a civil rights movement leader. He promoted the returning to Afrika, if not geographically, at then by "rediscovering" our ancestral heritage. Black people have held proudly onto their banner for the past 78 years hoisting it under various titles: International African Flag, The African Flag, Pan African Flag, Liberation Flag, Black Flag, African American Flag, Afro-American Flag and others. The colors represents all peoples of the Afrikan Diaspora regardless of land of birth. Red, black, and green red is for the "color of the blood which we must shed for our redemption and liberty", black for "the color of the noble and distinguished race to which we belong," and green for "the luxuriant vegetation of our Motherland.
