WHATCHA GONNA DO Brother!! By Darnell Fenderson
As the old church saying goes, all of us are going through something. Normally, the first thought that comes to a person's mind is sin. Truth is, there is a life after sin. There is nothing that says you can't kick every bad habit to the curb. "Well if all of my bad habits are broken, what's next?"
Good question! The answer: Everyday life. Breaking your habits and addictions doesn't make you sin-free. Everyday living will throw things at you that will tempt you and test your faithfulness to God. You don't have anger issues but some dude just gave you the finger while cutting you off because you weren't going fast enough for him. Whatcha gonna do brother!? The temptations of everyday life who would've thunk it? (I am aware that thunk is not a real word, but you get it) "Man, I thought once I kicked my habits and addictions I was gonna be scot-free" Sorry to burst your bubble but something or someone - or both - will do something to disrupt your life and cause problems. But the good news is, no matter how big our problems are we serve an even bigger God. So Trust in the lord with all your heart. (Proverbs 3:5) "But I don't understand why I'm going through this in the first place." -Lean not on your own understand. (Proverbs 3:5) God knows what the problem is and he has the solution to fix it, so rejoice. "How can I rejoice when things aren't right?" Think back to your childhood. Mom/Dad wasn't home from work yet and you was houngry. Not hungry but houngry. There was nothing of interest in the fridge and then the phone ring and its mom telling you she's bring McDonalds home. The call is over. You know mom is coming with the goods but that doesn't change the fact that you're houngry. However, the anticipation of what's to come has you excited and you begin to rejoice because you know good food is on the way. She didn't even ask what you wanted but it doesn't matter. Its McDonalds so it's gonna be good. Right now, you are going through hardships and it seems as if everything is going wrong but you can rejoice with the anticipation of what God is getting ready to do. You don't know exactly what he's gonna do or how he's gonna do it but it doesn't matter. It's from God, so it's gonna be good. So in your waiting WHATCHA GONNA DO BROTHER? Show him that you are faithful by acknowledging him in your ways so that he can make your pathway straight (Proverbs 3:6). Doing this shows your faith. Your faith is the activator that activates the power of God who releases the blessing which is your breakthrough. Don't sit around trying to figure God out. We can't even figure out the opposite sex, so what makes us think we can figure out the all mighty God lol Trials are necessary. They give us a testimony of his awesomeness and give us a boost of faith for the next trial. Seriously, how can I claim to serve an awesome God if I have no evidence of it? His getting me out of that situation is the evidence. Now when someone asks why you believe in God you'll have an answer with substance to back it up. And when the next headache presents itself, you can look back on the past headaches and remember how you thought it was the end of the world back then and how God brought you out. Funny thing is, you're going through the same emotions all over again but then the light bulb in your head lights up and the revelations hit you "If God was able to bring me out back then, then he can definitely bring me out this time around." Put your trust in him and show yourself to be faithful. Unfaithful acts only hold up the breakthrough causing you to wait longer. Who wants that? Not me. So, in closing. (I can't believe I'm doing this) "WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN TRIALS AND HARDSHIP RUN WILD ON YOU??" -Trust God
