If I have learned anything, it's that depression has no face, color, or gender; it could happen to anyone, and it happened to me.

I survived the devastating emotional trauma of several family deaths, including my mother, father, 3 brothers and 2 sisters, and lived to write about it. I was able to overcome severe depression, grief, anxiety, insomnia and an addiction to prescription drugs.

I credit my recovery to God, my ex-wife, a co-worker, a neighbor, a good friend, and support from my sister Marguerite and my brother DeWayne.

I am an associate business graduate of Pennsylvania State University, working for a local shoe store. In my free time, I am sharing my story so that I can help others who are suffering from depression, insomnia, and other similar ailments that are difficult for people to talk about and find real help.

My hope is that I will be able to help people the way I was helped when I needed it.
