the cost of greatness

Posted

the price one pays for advancing in this world is a high one,
the cost of believing in what one does and doing what one believes is slightly higher

it is many sleepless nights and work-filled days,
it's missing ones family and the comforts of home,
it's not seeing the first steps, first smiles, or hearing the first words.
it's having to decline the glass of wine in an effort to stay focused.
it's walking past the party to... (continue reading)

What I want from you

Posted

I want the last time to bring tears to my eyes and a smile to my face
I want it to be joy and pain.
I want you to hold me so close because you have to let me go.
To have you in the circle of my lips and watch eternity across your eyes.
I want to feel my heart fill and burst

I want the tears to fall as you draw me close.
I want you to let your love come down slowly, heavy.
I want to scream my pleasure... (continue reading)

The Things we were going through

Posted

So we were going through somethings before it ended.. Some hard, sit and think about it things. Then he asked me what these things meant to me, Love, Tenderness, and Respect...

Love A deep feeling that at times can be conditional but never fails. Love changes and is amorfous but it has power to enshroud and embrace all those who are lucky to be within it's graces. Love is something that is born in the soul but expressed by the heart, thoughts, words, and actions of people. Love... (continue reading)

personal message

My story is that which has crossed seas and traveled miles to teach the masses... my story is that which is written on the soul of thousands... it is carried by the winds and descends with each breaking wave... my story is your story... it is life as a cruel mistress, a loving teacher, and an unquestionable truth... my story is yours

Quick Bio on me:
I am entering my mid twenties and my last year of medical school as well, doing all that which is necessary to obtain for myself a respectable place in society but more so that than attempting to defy the "crabs in a barrel" theory of black solidarity.

My brother all these things I do for you and with you for the enrichment of our people.

What I have learned from relationships familial and otherwise:

1. If you yourself are not enough, there is nothing (material or otherwise) you can ever give the other person that can suffice.

2. Value yourself, that is the only way that the other person will value you and the only way the relationship can grow.

3. The truest things are said in anger or sadness, don`t be fooled by the "I didn`t mean what I said when we were arguing" there are no such things as Freudian slips.

4. The most important, love can cure a broken heart. Being hurt once should not be your motivation forwriting off the whole female or male race. External and internal wounds can and will heal with time. Ask yourself, by wallowing in my hurt who am I missing out on? what am I denying myself?

5. Second chances are just that, a chance - it may or may not work the second time. Realize that if people were perfect, then pencils would bemade without erasers. He who is blameless cast the first .....???

TO REALIZE

To realize
The value of a sister
Ask someone
Who doesn`t have one.

Ngozi, I miss you like crazy hermana. Every moment we were blessed with you was a treasure, when you passed, a cloud descended over me. The hurt still chokes me as I remember your sweet smile, the advice you would give, and how you could lift my spirits with a single smile. God only takes the best, this I know becasue he took you. It`s been a year yet I feel that it was only yesterday that I would sit by your bed and talk story. Always thinking of you dear sister.... Rest in Peace...

Una palabra,
no dice nada
pero el mismo tiempo
lo dice todo,

Como los flores
esconden lodo
Como el viento
esconden agua

Unamirada
no dice nada
pero el mismo tiempo
lo dice todo

Como la lluvia
sobre tu cara
El viejo mapas
esconden los tesoros

2 truths and a lie

Two of these are true about me. No joke. Which one's the lie? Take a guess...
