"Why should U even continue to sign up to be your brother or sister's keeper?" -An excerpt from the upcoming book "Cotton Pickin' Paycheck-A 21st Century Journal of Escape from Slavery" by Joan E. Gosier "Why should U even continue to sign up to be your brother or sister's keeper?" Please consider this demographic data: Only 36% of African American babies are living in a family NOT LOW-INCOME. This compares with 76% of Asian babies and 70% of white... (continue reading) Promotions, Promises and Perceptions (3Ps)Posted July 18th, 2008 at 11:45am Just curious. I know how drugs are promoted in many communities. I know how sex is promised in many videos and ads in many communities. I know how many people perceive black culture. How do we promote, promise or perceive education in our households with children age 0-6 years old? Can U embrace yourself and leave the hood behind?Posted July 01st, 2008 at 08:09pm Can U embrace yourself and leave the hood behind? I was just reflecting on some lessons taught to me by my dad as a child. My dad lived a lot of different places. He could pick up and jump into a new job and move into a new community and have a ball learning new people and places. HOWEVER...he always made it a point to go BACK to his birthplace and help someone along the way. I remember every summer when we went back there would always be some hung over drunk that he would stop on the side... "Education! Important GEAR for LIFE." Hear recent HBCU kidz RADIO Interview Download recent HBCU kidz e-Book View recent HBCU kidz TV Interview
My personal philosophy is "My salvation is worth more than my salary or commission". I believe that we all have a purpose and that our interactions with one another help us fulfill that purpose. I enjoy community development, urban renewal and strategic business planning. I fundamentally believe that 1) It takes a village to raise a village 2) Each one must reach one 3) Without a vision a people will perish 4) Without a satisfied customer, you have NO business being in business. I am down to earth BUT I take my family's priorities very serious. I have no tolerance for foolishness. I am sometimes sitting here online with my children and spouse so if you have sexually explicit photos, raunchy language and other "family unfriendly" things on your home page indicating that you are into things that are not like minded, please understand that I may reject your request for my friendship. Life is about choices. That is why we are blessed to live our own lives. I take my affiliations very serious. My friends know that my respect and concern is sincerely given when one becomes my friend. About HBCU kidz, Inc. "WE believe our kids are our future. We also believe that education is important gear for life. Just like a football player wears a helmet, a surgeon wears a mask, a judge wears a robe, or even as a carpenter carries a hammer. Every baby needs to be dressed for success at home. Success begins at birth and every baby born is a gift from God. We want U to help connect the kids to the colleges. HBCU kidz is a family business committed to serving families." Tommy and Joan Gosier "We can only reap what has been sown" Galatians 6:7-8 "When spider webs unite, they can tie up a lion" Ethiopian Proverb "Where there is no vision, the people perish" Proverbs 29:18
